No, they didn't. It was sitting on my bed in my room the first day I was here. My roomates had an item from home too. Didn't you get one?

[He gestures to the red and blue pin on a chain around his neck. Hydok I know you're canon familiar, I'm not digging out a picture for you.]

I just wear it all the time so I thought it counted as part of my clothes.

Well, the badge is technically part of my uniform. But if memories are important, it's something that has a lot of strong emotions that go along with it.

I bet it does, if it's tied to your job like that.

It's a symbol from my church. So it's tied to my job too, yeah.

I don't really know anything about organized religion.

That's fine, most people don't. And if you're not into the religion then it's probably not that interesting to you anyway. I'm not here to proselytize.

Yeah, I guess so. I've worn it for so many years, it's a part of who I am.

It's interesting. It's been a while since I really worked with a lot of people who aren't in ēlDLIVE, but we've got all sorts here.

It's the space police where I'm from.

They stuck me in a little backwater system, so my job is mostly keeping tourists from causing incidents with the locals, and occasionally checking cargo manifests, so it's nothing too exciting. [But he sounds fond anyway.]
